Women's Missionary Union [WMU] – Sis. Jacqueline Barnes, Chair
The WMU is one of the oldest ministries in the church and is made up of the women in the church. We currently have four (4) circles from which one can choose, and we welcome any and every woman.
Generations of women toiled and served faithfully in the vineyard, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ through their service in the church and community. Those early pioneers laid the foundation and we strive to preserve and build on that foundation.
We support local and state ministries, we visit and care for our sick and shut-in members, we visit nursing homes, etc.
Our goal is to meet the needs of people where they are by exhibiting the love of Christ and the ultimate sacrifice HE made for all Mankind.
Our Mission Statement, paraphrased from Matthew 25:36-40, says it all:
"Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye
visited me; I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
The righteous ask, when Lord? Inasmuch as ye have
done it unto one of the least of these my brethren,
ye have done it unto me."
The four groups are namely:
Nancy Barrow Group
Lela Black Group
Albenia Toms Group
Mary Wilson Group
